Seed Distribution by Vishwaroop Pratishthan on World Environment Day!

On the occasion of World Environment Day, June 5, seeds were distributed to hundreds of women from Mahad and Roha talukas. The women participated in this initiative with great enthusiasm and expressed their gratitude to the President of Vishwaroop Pratishthan, Mrs. Rohini Satish Dharap.

Vishwaroop Pratishthan is a social organization based in Raigad district that carries out various service-oriented initiatives. One of its key initiatives is tree plantation. Last year, the organization instilled confidence among farmers by cultivating coconuts on saline lands affected by mangroves in the district. Continuing this effort, this year, seeds of vegetables like cluster beans, okra, chilies, tomatoes, and leafy greens were distributed to 40 women from Dadli and Karanjkhol villages in Mahad, and to 70 women from the Devkanhe village cluster in Roha taluka.

Inspired by the saintly teaching कांदा मुळा भाजी, अवघी विठाई माझी (Onion, radish, and greens—my offerings to Lord Vitthal!,) Vishwaroop Pratishthan distributed monsoon vegetable seeds to a total of 110 women. The initiative was conceptualized by the organization’s president, Mrs. Rohini Satish Dharap, and guidance on vegetable farming was provided by the organization’s Project Manager, Minal Butala. On this occasion, office bearer Mr. Vasant Shedge and BJP Women’s District President Dr. Manjusha Kudrimurti were also present to guide and encourage the participants.
